Albany County Republican & Conservative Conference Agenda

10/5/23

JOINT STATEMENT FROM ALBANY COUNTY LEGISLATORS FRANK MAURIELLO & PAUL BURGDORF

On Reports of Rape, Robbery, and Assault Committed by Criminal Migrants at Colonie Hotel

Since Memorial Day weekend earlier this year, we have been warning our Democratic colleagues about the coming consequences of President Biden’s open borders policies in our communities.

In response, they blocked our common-sense legislation to help deal with this crisis. One of our Democrat colleagues, who is also a Democrat political party leader, even had the gall to recently say we should “get over it” and “get ready for the next wave.”

Now, our worst fears have been confirmed.

Colonie never wanted this humanitarian emergency in its backyard. It was a decision forced upon us by New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Our Republican and Conservative Conference stands in full support of Supervisor Peter Crummey’s quick and decisive leadership actions to protect our Town against this crisis. We thank our brave police officers for getting these dangerous individuals off our streets and protecting our neighbors every day.

There must now be accountability for every Democrat politician who continues to welcome and enable this in Albany County. This isn’t about politics. It’s about protecting our citizens, safeguarding our tax dollars and ending the chaos in our communities.
