Albany County Republican & Conservative Conference Agenda 

The Republican and Conservative Conference is unanimously opposed to a recent proposal that would grant County Legislators unfettered access to local correctional facilities.

This measure is an irresponsible insult to the brave men and women staffing these facilities every day. Our Conference has full faith in the abilities of the Albany County Sheriff to keep our jails and communities safe. It’s unfortunate some of our colleagues don’t feel the same way.

We are calling on all of our colleagues in the Legislature to reject this proposal, and instead focus on common sense measures to enhance public safety in our County.
