About Frank

Frank Mauriello is serving his second term in the Albany County Legislature and continues in his role as Minority Leader of the Republican Conference. His district encompasses the most western portion of the Town of Colonie stretching from Rt. 155/New Karner Road in the east and the border with Schenectady County to the west, to Consaul and Lisha Kill Road to the north. His district includes a wide variety of neighborhoods as well as businesses along the Central Avenue corridor. The inclusion of the Town of Colonie Golf Course and much of the Albany Pine Bush in the district, has made Frank increasingly aware of and attuned to the growing concerns regarding development in the area.

As a Colonie Central High School graduate, Frank grew up in the district he now represents. Frank began his service in government as a member of the Town of Colonie Sign Review Board, and would later serve as Chairman. From there, he was appointed to the Colonie Town Board and was subsequently elected to two full terms. During his second term, he served as Deputy Town Supervisor. He participated in a number of Colonie parks projects and youth programs, including the groundbreaking and dedication of the Crossings of Colonie. He has worked with youth sports on the building of the Lisha Kill Sports Complex, home of Colonie Girls Softball and Colonie Soccer Club, as well as the North Soccer Complex.

Frank’s two terms on the Town Board and four years on the Sign Review Board gave him invaluable insight and experience in making municipal government work. Throughout his tenure in public service and in the private sector, Frank has demonstrated thoughtful and steady leadership by being a highly organized and detail-oriented individual. He has earned a number of accolades throughout his career in the private sector, including Regional Sales Representative of the Year, Leadership Club Status, and being appointed to the Sales Advisory Board. In 2004, he received the Outstanding Business Award from the Rotary Club of Guilderland-Colonie. Frank’s experience with preparing budgets, drafting proposals and analyzing sales margins has equipped him with a myriad of transferrable skills in his work as a County Legislator. Whether it’s for a client or a constituent, Frank serves their needs with diligence and professionalism.

Frank is also heavily involved in his community serving on multiple boards in his neighborhood, including the Board of Fire Commissioners for Midway Fire District between 2009 and 2013, two years of which he served as Chairman. He has also served on the South Colonie School District’s Dollars for Scholars Board of Directors since 2009.

In his spare time Frank enjoys traveling, especially to sporting events with his daughters. As a diehard New York Mets and Buffalo Bills fan, he can find his way blindfolded to Queens and Orchard Park. He also goes on regular baseball trips with his close friends, with the goal of eventually visiting every MLB stadium. On sunny summer days you will find him touring the Upstate New York countryside in his FIAT 124 Spider.

Frank received his Bachelor of Science from Siena College and is proud to represent the 27th district and call it his home.
