Albany County Lawmakers Donate & Volunteer in 18th Annual Toys for Tots Program at Colonie Schools

ALBANY, NY – Albany County Legislators Frank Mauriello, Mark Grimm, and Patty Schwarz Lockart this month participated in South Colonie’s 18th annual “Stuff the Bus” Toy Drive. The Toys for Tots program, run by the school district and U.S. Marines, provides an opportunity for students, staff, and members of the community to donate gifts to children in need this holiday season.

“I am proud to lead a Legislative Conference which annually demonstrates generosity and holiday spirit by donating gifts for children in need. My colleagues and I are happy to help ‘stuff the bus’ and bring Christmas cheer to our communities. Thank you to the South Colonie School District and U.S. Marines for putting on this Toys for Tots program year in and year out. I encourage all of my neighbors to join us in the season of giving, whether it’s through this charitable program or any other during this most wonderful time of the year. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!” said Legislator Mauriello.

The South Colonie School District, in collaboration with the U.S. Marines, kicked off the “Stuff the Bus” toy drive on December 2. Their collection ends today, with community donation sites located at South Colonie schools, the District Office, and the Village of Colonie.

In addition, there are several toy drop boxes located at government sites and area businesses across the Capital Region. In 2023, Capital Region Toys for Tots distributed 682,145 toys and supported 401,336 children in need. For more information on the program and how to donate, please visit here.
