District 22: Peter B. Tunny

Peter B. Tunny was elected to his first term in the Albany County Legislature beginning June 1, 2004 to represent residents of the 23rd Legislative District. His district encompasses Vly Road, parts of Lishakill Road, Shaker Ridge, Albany Airport, the south side of Troy-Schenectady Road from Birchwood Lane to Wade Road.

Peter is a member of the Court Facilities, Public Works, Social Services and Conservation and Improvement Committees.

Director of Transportation in the South Colonie Central School District since July of 1989, Peter was also on the Colonie Town Board from January of 1996 until December of 2003, and also the Deputy Town Supervisor from January of 2001 until December of 2003.

Peter graduated from Colonie Central High School, and received his B.A. in Political Science from Siena College.

 

Active in his community, Peter is also presently affiliated with the Colonie Youth Center Board of Directors, the Colonie Fire Company, Friends of Pruyn House and Shaker Heritage Society.
